Five Tips to tweak your Monsoon Skin Regime

Quick tips for Monsoon: 

Monsoon require a slight tweak in our daily skincare regime.   Without changing our routine too dramatically, we just need to accommodate the humidity and how it reacts to the skin.   Some may experience oiliness, breakouts and blackheads while others may feel their skin is parched and thirsty all the time.  Whatever the skin type, one thing is certain, it is time to keep the bacteria and the dirt at bay.

TIP 1:

Cleanse, Cleanse, Cleanse:  Keep your skin cleansed at all times.  Even if it means 3 to 4 times a day.   We recommend our all Natural & Organic foaming face cleanser with tea tree, ideal for protecting the skin against acne, zits and clogging of the pores.  The face cleanser is lightweight, not creamy so good for both dry and oily skin types.   If you skin still feels a little dry, you can trying cleansing using honey, or milk with a few drops of chamomile essential oil. 

TIPS 2: 

Exfoliating your skin is a good idea to remove the pesky dirt and grime hiding under the skin. You can exfoliate using our exfoliating soap, or you can use a face scrub or an exfoliating mask.   There are plenty of DIY face masks and scrubs that are very effective.  Remember to exfoliate gently, not to remove the natural oils from your skin.   For oily skin, you may use our Multani mitti Facial Soap to remove the surplus oils, or you can try a clay mask that helps absorb excess oil to balance the skin.   You can also use our bestseller Bamboo Charcoal Soap to help detox the skin and layers beneath the skin.   The charcoal goes deep into the skin to cleanse, leaving you free from dirt built up and grime from the monsoon rains!

TIPS 3:

Hydrate you Skin:  This is not a cliche.   It is a must, even in the humidity.   However, those with oily skin, avoid oil based lotions.  The ideal hydrator is Aloe Vera Gels!  We have a range to choose from.  Tea Tree Aloe Vera Gel, if you are prone to Acne, Orange and Cinnamon with Aloe Vera for deep hydration and firmness, and Neem for correcting damaged skin.  You can also use Aloe Vera Gel if your skin is dry. We would recommend the Chamomile and Cucumber Aloe Vera Gel or the Peach and Avocado rich in fatty acids.   Dry skin types can also go for additional hydration with a mild, lightweight lotion.   We would recommend our chamomile and jojoba body lotion.  

TIP 4:

Avoid make-up as much as possible.  Use waterproof make up if required.   Use the Naturma Aloe Vera Gels as a primer to protect the skin from the chemicals in the make -up.   Cleanse the make-up off as soon as you don't require it any more.  

TIPS: Make use you wear breathable clothes, light cottons, and open footwear to avoid bacteria and fungus caused by sweat and trapped pores.   We highly recommend using our Sweet Surrender Foot Lotion with Vetiver, Lemongrass, Mint and Tea Tree bringing relief, freshness and lightness to the feet.  It helps heal cracks and chapped feet. 

TIP 5: 

We highly recommend not to used synthetics during this season.   Avoid synthetic clothing as they don't breathe.  The sweat caused by humidity is trapped under your clothes making it a haven for bacteria and fungus.   They can also aggravate the skin.   In the same way, avoid synthetics in skincare products that create a film over your skin.  Let the toxins come out, let the skin breathe.  All our products are completely natural without an SLS, or parabens or any harsh chemicals.  It is vital that you stay away from any chemicals in your products especially during this season.
